Recently  we are facing issue with inventory scans not working on most of new client machines. We are able to successfully push the Landesk inventory agent  to a new PC. It seems to install fine but the PC is still sitting in Pending Unmanaged Client Deployment. It fails when sending scan results to the core server. When I tried to run a inventory scan manually ,it fails and displays the below error.

Inventory Services seem to be up and running within the PC and core server.
I can telnet from the PC to the core with ports 5007.
Windows firewall is disabled.

Appreciate your timely help and support on this

Next, I havent configured anything under cloud services appliances, does it have anything do with this inventory scan fail?

PC not showing on All Devices

I recently deleted a user PC (Windows 8.1)from All Devices and reimaged it with Windows 10 Build 1803 through Landesk and it named it same as the old name. I did this twice but the PC name is not getting picked up back to the All Devices for me to push applications. Then I have noticed that there was an entry under Pending Unmanaged Devices so I deleted that. I ran the inventory and vulnera scan from the client machine few times, shutdown and restart, install reinstall the client agent, also did a scan by IP from Management console and it picked up the existing name but no luck to get it to the All Devices. Is there the possibility that the old entry was still there somewhere?

I'll try renaming the PC with different name and see how I go.

Thanks in advance.

MINISCAN.EXE command switches and additional documentation

Hi folks - in response to the document posted here about MINISCAN and /send, does anyone have any additional information or reference about these switches?

" As of LDMS 8.7, we can send custom data with a miniscan for a Windows client.

The format for this scan is;

"c:\program files\landesk\ldclient\miniscan.exe" "/send=Custom Data - Logged On = Yes"

Where "/send=" is the switch to let miniscan.exe know to include the data that follows in the minscan file. It is important to include the quotes "/send" for the command to work.

The rest of the command line follows the rules for custom data. Remember, this is a snippet of information only, up to 255 characters. "

Thanks!

inventaire sans agent + lddiscover

Bonjour,

CoreServeur : LDMS 8.8 SP3        Windows 2003 Entreprise

Bon courage, a celui qui pourra me repondre.

++

Cordialement

Jeremy

Does anyone know how to return the Symantec Antivirus definition date through the use of a miniscan. I haven't found an article that addressed this exact topic.

We run full inventory scans on a daily basis, but quite often scans happen when the pc's are not connected to the corporate network. (we are looking into the Management Gateway currently.

In the meantime I would like to get this up and running.

Thanks,

Brian

Is there a way to query a file with a specific hash key ?

We have packged an application using another packaging utillity. This utillity redirects the application to a key server. We are trying to find which customers have these "Keyed" applications and schedule an uninstall. I was able to download an application that showed me the hash file values and I know they are different from the original and consistent across the board.

I would like to Scan all the PC's for the executable file with the exact hash key for the keyed version. Is there anyway to accomplish this?

LDAP query

Hi there,

Is it possible to use LDAP query to find out the device in LANDesk? For example, I would like to find out how many machines are logged by an AD user "Admin". I try the query "cn=admin" and only the user name displayed in the result box.

Hi Guys,

I installed new 9.5 core server and now im trying to migrate clients from old 9.0 core server to it.

Im redeploying agents from new core server to all devices. So far everything worked like charm.

Now I found a device that I sucessfully deployed agent to but that device do not apear in all devices list.

Im able to connect to it using remote control.

I was also able to run manual security and inventory scan from the device. I saw that this device was communicating with right core during this scan but It didnt apear in the list.

(no error on client during scan)

I tired to completely remove - reinstall the agent but behaviour of this device is still the same.

Core server and the device are on the same network. All firewalls are dissabled.

Does anyone have an idea what might be the problem ?

Thanks

Scan inventory for a specific extension

Hi folks, I am trying to scan for a specific extension (*.ipd).  I have followed the instructions here http://community.landesk.com/support/docs/DOC-2169 and also tried to set it up as a vulnerability.  The porblem is I only want to search for extension.  The file name (it is a BlackBerry backup file)  is random, by date.  The file name could be anything.  I've also tried some vbScript and searching for files recursively is a bit time consuming and cloddy.  Any thoughts? TIA & Best regards, Rich

User accounts that have admin rights on a computer

Is it possible to run a report in LDMS that will provide a list of users that have admin rights to that box.

Thanks.

Run inventory scanner automatically after software package installation.

In reference to running the inventory scanner automatically after software package installation, does that only apply when LANDesk does the installation or does it run automatically after any software is installed. Like through add/remove program? One last question, is there any way to run a software scan when package is removed?

LDScan directory filling up / service crashing...

$

Core: LDMS for Lenovo TVT 8.80.0.249 running on WinServer2K3 R2

Managed Devices: 1584

Every time the LANDesk Inventory Server service is running, the ManagementSuite\LDScan\ directory fills up with *.scn files.

One time, it got up to 800,000 of these files, consuming well over 25GB.

Shouldn't these get processed by the Inventory Service and then get removed when the database is updated?

There have been issues with the LDINV32.exe service crashing as well, so not sure if this is related or not.

Any ideas on how I can isolate what is going or how to remedy would be greatly appreciated.

I have tried removing/re-adding the service and have resorted to simply deleting *.scn files periodically to provide disk space relief to the server (further compounding any issues I am sure).

Thanks in advance!
