I am getting this error whenever the inventory scan runs, whether it is from a local client starting the scan, the login mini-scan or a scan request from the console
I have temporarily re-named amtscanner.exe to .old & the scan now runs without error.
all recent critical & most important / high windows updates are applied
LDMS 9.5 with latest agent. Also tried re-installing the agent, but same results.
Hello.
I'm working on an issue where I'd like to collect screen resolution information for several devices, but I quickly found that the "Video" -> "Resolution" data is very unreliable. In fact, almost all devices report a "1024 x 768" resolution which I know is incorrect.
Is it a known issue, or is there a way to get reliable data for this? Preferably a screen resolution value per connected monitor, but a correct resolution for the main monitor would be helpful as well.
We're using LD9.5 SP2.
Thanks in advance.
How can I readActive Directoryattributes(attributesMachine)and showin inventory?
I have an issue where the core is seeing Devices using their old IP Address and will not update, making any control of the device pointless.
I can PING from the core to the device and visa-versa.
Inventory scans work on the device.
I have followed this article by francesco.baldini to no avail - Issue: The IP address of the managed device isn't updated - the IP address of the wrong network connection is reported
I am having a hard time finding documentation on how to use the Location Reporting feature.
The only documentation so far I have found is https://help.landesk.com/docs/help/en_US/LDMS/10.0/Windows/agent-h-inventory-settings.htm?Highlight=location reporting
In Agent Settings, under Inventory Settings, I have set Location Reporting to Allow with a Collection interval of 4 hours. My question is, how do I view the location data for the device that has this setting? I am not seeing it in the device inventory.
I have a PC where the client shows that the IP address is 127.0.0.1 and I cannot contact it via LANDesk.. It isn't even in the console. However, I can see it in AD, and I can ping it by name and see what IP address it pulls via DHCP. How would I reestablish communication wit this equipment besides going to it and reinstalling everything manually?
We are trying to troubleshoot why several of our computers with "SNBC BTP-2002NP" thermal receipt printers randomly print out PJL commands. The printers are connected to POS computers that connect to a terminal server. The printer is not installed it is just connected to the com 2 port. The POS software runs from the terminal server and prints to the com 2 port. When this happens it causes the application to freeze up on the RD Web Windows Terminal Server for the individuals session. Does anyone know how LANDesk polls for printers to add them to inventory? Would LANDesk send the following commands to the com port during inventory to determine information?
12345X@PJL
@PJL INFO ID
@PJL INQUIRE SERIALNUMBER
@PJL INFO PAGECOUNT
@PJL INQUIRE RESOLUTION
@PJL INFO STATUS
@PJL INFO SUPPLIES
@PJL INFO PRODINFO
@PJL INFO VARIABLES
2017.1 Was there ever an entry added to the Inventory of a device that can be queried to see what Agent Health settings have been applied to a device if any? I was told when 2016 was first released that it was planned on being added in a future version.
Thanks,
Hi,
Do you know if the ports list is the same as 9.6 ?
Hello,
We are in the process of deploying Office 2016 to our devices and have seen a few issues with add-ins from time to time. I am trying to determine the best way to identify add-ins that are installed for the office products, in an effort to minimize potential issues. I may have missed it out there, or I'm just not searching correctly, but does anyone know or have a way on how to determine this?
Any help would be appreciated.
2016.3 SU3 is the version that we are on.
Thanks!
Scott
This article addresses how to resolve a specific issue with inventory records being overwritten due to duplicate device IDs in your environment caused by a misconfigured image or an imaging process that was done without correctly following your internal imaging process. Most likely the LANDesk agent was added to the image or was installed to a machine out of order during a new build.
Unfortunately, some of this is going to be you, your admin, or other console users saying that devices are just missing or not displaying in the network view. Noticing this issue may be occurring requires more detective work than a distinct and clear error.
If you are seeing weird behaviors with a batch of similar machines disappearing/reappearing in Inventory, review your Core server ldscan folder
[COREPATH]\Program Files\LANDesk\ManagementSuite\ldscan\ErrorScan
When opening the various .scn files (.scn file extension is the OOTB default for EPM, your environment may be configured differently), you will be looking for the following information:
Device ID ={***************************************}
Device Name =***********
Network - TCPIP - Host Name =************.domain
If you see multiple files with matching device IDs but different device name/hostname then you probably have an issue with how the machine was imaged
The reason these items are showing up in ErrorScan is because the core doesn't recognize the information even though it thinks it already has a matching device ID. Prove this by looking at the LANDesk Inventory Server warnings in the Application section of Event Viewer on the core
Run eventvwr.msc
Expand Windows Logs
Click Application
You can filter or sort by Source (this may take a few minutes)
NOTE: As a user with Administrative privileges on the client device
1. STOP all LANDESK related services
2. Delete the following Registry Keys for 32bit clients:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Intel\LANDesk\Common Api\UniqueID
HKLM\SOFTWARE\LANDesk\Common Api\UniqueID
HKLM\SOFTWARE\LANDesk\Inventory\LogonHistory\Logons
HKLM\SOFTWARE\LANDesk\ManagementSuite\WinClient\SoftwareMonitoring\MonitorLog contents
Delete the following Registry Keys for 64 bit clients:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Intel\LANDesk\Common Api\UniqueID
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\LANDesk\Common Api\UniqueID
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\LANDesk\Inventory\LogonHistory\Logons
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\LANDesk\ManagementSuite\WinClient\SoftwareMonitoring\MonitorLog contents
3. C:\ProgramData\LANDesk (delete the entire directory and subdirectories, this is a hidden directory)
4. Run Security Scan - look for this line "Sending current settings information to core. Failed: Core has no inventory data for this computer" (this is important to make the inventory scan work, otherwise it will fail and you will see the entry in Event Viewer)
Without this step, I was encountering an error stating "LDISCN32: The inventory server [CORE] did not respond"
5. Open command prompt and run C:\"Program Files (x86)"\LANDesk\LDClient\LDISCN32.EXE /V /F /SYNC
You do not have to wait for Security Scan to finish, it will probably fail anyways until it can properly sync up with the right inventory information
Machines are not updating their IP address, so when I go to remote, scan inventory, etc The task is performed on the wrong machine (the one that really has that ip address). How do I get it to either update it's ip address or use the computer name to base tasks on?
I'm trying to add two extra date fields to the inventory details of my computers, one to hold the purchase date and one to hold the warranty until date.
Wen I add the date fields and fill them I use MM/DD/YY to fill in dates.
However at random times the dates I put in get mixed up.
For instance when I put in purchase date 09/06/05 and it gets displayed as 06/09/05
Very confusing and very annoying if you have to insert >100 machines and have to double check every time and you cannot rely on the output of your input.
I'm working on a WinXP Pro 32bit machine with Landesk MS 8.8 SP2 console connected to 8.8 SP2 core server.
My localization is Dutch but I can't see this being the cause as it sometimes works and sometimes doesn't.
Hope you have some tips to solve this.
Hi
When we try to download patches using Landesk, it fails with next error message in vulscan.log:

I have tried with diferent patches, and error is the same.
If we try to download patches accesing URL http://landesk_server/LDLogon/patch/INTL/Citrix/CitrixReceiver4.6.exe , we can do it with no problems.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance

I'm trying to create a custom script to add a registry entry to the RunOnce key. The problem I'm having is the amount of quotes I require in order for it to run properly. No matter what combination of quotes I use, whether it be <qt/> or ", I don't get the end result I need, which is an entry in the RunOnce key that looks like this: "C:\Program Files\LANDesk\LDClient\miniscan.exe" "/send= Custom Data - Lock Status = Unknown".
Here's the script:
[MACHINES]
REMEXEC0=C:\Windows\System32\reg.exe add HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce /v MiniScan /t REG_SZ /d <qt/>C:\Program Files\LANDesk\LDClient\miniscan.exe<qt/> "/send= Custom Data - Lock Status = Unknown", SYNC
I have created a query that selects a group of machines by model and by login user. Out of those machines I wold like to create a report to show the .Netframework installed. I have noticed that the majority of the devices have .NetFramework 2.0 but there are other ones that have different one. I have selected certain colums to show what I need but only .Netframework 2.0 show in the report because that is what I have chosen. What do I need to do to show version of .Netframework.
Thanks in advance!
I want to create a inventory query to show all client with 64 bit OS, but I can not found any data in our inventory to tell whether the OS is 32 bit or 64 bit.
Does anybody know how to do that?
Thanks!
We're running 9.5 SP1 and I've got some problematic machines out there (Windows 7 PCs) that just aren't getting their scans processed correctly. When I look in the error scans folder, sure enough, the failed scans for these PCs are in there.
I've turned on logging statistics and get the following error in the application log each time one of these machines is scanned:
Database exception: SCA4AE1.SCN, LDInv.dll
-2147467259
Data provider or other service returned an E_FAIL status.
Error comitting on table SERVICES: DATA PROVIDER OR OTHER SERVICE RETURNED AN E_FAIL STATUS.
Increased column size might be necessary, Thread ID: 4692.
Anyone come across this before?
