Is there a document explaining the command line switches for LDISCN32.exe? I can do a "/?" but it doesn't explain what "/O /T /Q" do.

ldiscn32.exe crashes every time, even after client reinstallation
ldiscn32.exe crashes every time, locally on one of my Win7x64 client machines. no ldiscn32.log file is created. even the /o switch won't produce a log file.
event viewer shows minimal info. Faulting application/module name: LDISCN32.EXE, version: 9.60.2.111, time stamp xxx.
Event ID =1000, Task Category = (100). Exception code: 0x40000015
running locally or remotely (via psexec) both return error code 3. I can run miniscan.exe successfully via psexec which will update the ip in ldconsole, allowing remote control.
I've tried to reinstall the entire client twice but the issue persists. The client machine seems totally fine outside of ldiscn32...

I haven't tried the UninstallWinClient.exe from ldmain yet... but it seems a client re-installation first uninstalls all modules before re-installing... not sure if there's a difference there.
Suggestions? We're running LDMS 9.6 sp1.

How to find if file is on computers (query question)
We have deep freeze installed on all our computers.
When installed, there is a C:\Persi0.sys file on the computer.
Long story short...not all computers are reporting into the Faronics console. Therefore, we want to run a query to find what computers have this file on them.
I am in console under Network View, server, Queries, My queries.
Computer, Software, Package, File Name = C:\Persi0.sys and it doesnt show any results
I saw this How to scan for a specific file in the Inventory
And noticed the Jan 23 post and it seems like they are asking the same thing as I.
Any ideas for a first time poster??

How quickly should LDAP changes show up in LDMS query?
We prefer to deploy software based on AD security groups. Ideally, we put a machine into a security group, then within a few hours LDMS installs the software associated with that group. But I can't figure out exactly what mechanism tells a client, and thus the core server, what security groups a system is in, or when that mechanism runs. I put a machine in a security group, did a hardware inventory, a hardware-and-software inventory, a Full Sync inventory, ran gpupdate /force on the system and ran all three different inventories, rebooted and did the inventories, then even did a vulscan (though I don't think there's any connection there). The system would not recognize the new membership in that security group until sometime last night. I'd like to know how a system recognizes the new membership so I can "nudge" a given system to help it install software faster. I would think this is in the User Guide somewhere, but I've looked and looked and haven't found it anywhere.

Inventory Event 4100 in Event Viewer on Core not specific
Running Landesk 2016 sp3
In my event viewer I have several 4100 events that are specific to what column to increase but I have this one which has no specific column that is located in the Datamart.xml file. Below is a scaled down version of what it says.
Error committing on table VIDEO: DATA PROVIDER OR OTHER SERVICE RETURNED AN E FAIL STATUS
Increased Column size might be necessary. Thread ID 3044
Any ideas?

Identify Office Add-ins
Hello,
We are in the process of deploying Office 2016 to our devices and have seen a few issues with add-ins from time to time. I am trying to determine the best way to identify add-ins that are installed for the office products, in an effort to minimize potential issues. I may have missed it out there, or I'm just not searching correctly, but does anyone know or have a way on how to determine this?
Any help would be appreciated.
2016.3 SU3 is the version that we are on.

Can you add other assets to Inventory?
I am looking to associate monitors and docks to a workstation? Is this possible?
I am also looking to track peripherals (wireless headsets) to users, can we add other hardware types, and if so how can we do so?

Run inventory scanner automatically after software package installation.
In reference to running the inventory scanner automatically after software package installation, does that only apply when LANDesk does the installation or does it run automatically after any software is installed. Like through add/remove program? One last question, is there any way to run a software scan when package is removed?

Can i get the serial number of fujitsu scanners
dear all ,
iam trying to pull the serial number of 200 fujitsu scanners to the LANDesk Inventory
i can see simple information about these scanners in the inventory ( Manifacure , name , number ) because it is connected via USB
i went to Ports --> USB --> Device --> 3 --> ...
but i want to get the serial number but :
1- the seriall number is not written in the regisry
2- i can see the serial if i go to control panel ---> scanners and cameras ---> right click fujitsu scanner ---> go the tab device info ---> serial number
3- the vendor cant help till now
where is the Hero which will solve this ??????????????? !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unique Device ID question/issue
I'm looking for some direction.
We have a virtual desktop environment (Citrix Xen Desktop) of about 6,000 desktops. These desktops have a LANDesk inventory/remote control (not SWD) agent on them. Occasionally, when using the LANDesk console to remote to a virtual desktop, LANDesk connects to a different desktop (not the one selected).
- The desktops are all pre-generated with unique device names (xendesk####).
- Those desktops all have unique MAC addresses as well.
- When the desktops are generated (using the Citrix tools) they are essentially "frozen" in the state of the "source" desktop, other than the unique name (which is tied to AD). I don't know if the desktops have had the LANDesk unique device ID stripped currently, but I'm pretty sure at one point they did.
- Once a week (give or take) the "master" image is unfrozen and edited, then refrozen. As the desktops that are derived from that master reboot, they get the new version of the master image.
Should we be stripping the LANDesk unique ID from the master image every time it is edited?
If we do that, every time a desktop reboots (potentially daily) it would generate a new unique LANDesk ID (but still have the same name and MAC address).
My fear is that thousands of devices have the same unique LANDesk ID and that could cause problems from a remote control standpoint.
My other fear is that if we strip the unique ID, I'll end up with (literally) hundreds of database entries with the same name and MAC address but unique LANDesk device IDs.
Any idea what the best approach is here?

I'm looking through the inventory of the windows 10 machine and I can't find any item that identifies the build number, is that not in the inventory scans? if not can it be added as a custom field?

Docking Station - Inventory
I ran a query for special laptop model, I wanted to add setting that will show me if there is docking station. Is it possible if so where can i find under Machine Components setting to add Docking Station. using LD8.7SP5
