LD 8.8 SP3
I have recently deployed 14K nodes and have a small issue concerning mini scans.
From All devices view, I have about 100 machines that are "managed" but only show basic information (IP address , name, device ID, etc...). These are mini scans. I can remote control these devices. The agent appears to be fully installed. The agent has been resident for several weeks now. The "Last Updated By Inventory Server" date is current.
If I deploy the "Inventory Scanner" Managed Script., they all fail. The script has been modified to force a full scan. See below:
REMEXEC1=<qt/>%LDMS_CLIENT_DIR%\LDISCN32.EXE<qt/> /NTT=%server%:5007 /S="%server%" /I=HTTP://%server%/ldlogon/ldappl3.ldz /NOUI /NOCD /F /Sync
The scheduled task results show "The system cannot find the path specified.
However, if i remote control a device in this group and manually kick off a full scan, the full inventory scan completes and I no longer have a mini scan inventory for that device. I have the full inventory. The command used is:
"C:\Program Files\LANDesk\LDClient\LDISCN32.EXE" /NTT=XXX-LDCORE:5007 /S=XXX-LDCORE /I=HTTP://XXX-LDCORE/ldlogon/ldappl3.ldz /V /Sync /F
(I edited the server name for the purposes of this thread.)
Thinking it might be an issue with the variables, I modified the inventory script and specified the core server by name and redeployed with no success. That script was:
REMEXEC1=<qt/>%LDMS_CLIENT_DIR%\LDISCN32.EXE<qt/> /NTT=XXX-LDCore:5007 /S="XXX-LDCore" /I=HTTP://XXX-LDCore/ldlogon/ldappl3.ldz /NOUI /NOCD /F /Sync
Question: Why does manually firing off the full inventory scan work and pushing the same command via Managed Scripts fail?
Thank you for taking the time to read this. Any and all suggestions are welcome.

So I have been wondering for a while now why I have so many old devices showing up in my inventory. According to this doc (http://community.landesk.com/support/docs/DOC-1188) The "Days to keep inventory scans" is supposed to take care of this, but it doesn't seem to be working. I have mine set to 30 days, but I have machines showing up in inventory with Last Hardware Scan Date of over 6 months ago. Why is this not working or how do I get it to work? Thanks.
I have several clients that aren't updating the ldappl3.ini file.
I've deleted all of the ldappl3 files (minus .template) file and recreated them on the core.
Checked the ldapplpcgi.sig and ldapplpcgi.exe files (http://community.landesk.com/support/docs/DOC-6320), they have the same date, just are 13hrs apart.
Aside from reinstall, I am not sure what I can do.
Anyone have any suggestions?
LD9 SP3
I followed Doc 1089 to the T and checked on the computer in the ldapl32.ini file to see if the core passed on the registry entry I added in the core and it was there.
I run a Full Sync scan on the computer and nothing new shows in my inventory.
The registry keys I added all have a dword listed or Reg_sz listed in the registry.
Checked, doublechecked spelling , spaces, commas etc in fact I took a entry that is working and copyed it but put it under a different heading in the inventory and it only shows under the heading it was in originally(I did not delete the original entry only copyed/duplicated).
The original heading was (Computer) - Custom Data - Landesk. The new heading (Computer) - Custom data - Nic settings.
Also checked in Services - Inventory Blocked applications and can't find my entry in there either.
Any suggestions?
Hi
When we try to download patches using Landesk, it fails with next error message in vulscan.log:

I have tried with diferent patches, and error is the same.
If we try to download patches accesing URL http://landesk_server/LDLogon/patch/INTL/Citrix/CitrixReceiver4.6.exe , we can do it with no problems.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance

Hello.
We recently upgraded to 8.8 (and we have also installed service pack 1) and have since had the following error messages show up in the event log. The first one says this: Inventory server detected {89FF8FEC-C909-4443-9177-B92CC2A72C29} as a duplicated device ID
I looked in the forums and have not found the same error message so I am stumped on that one.
The second error message says this: Scan file from {57534A2D-3758-374A-9124-C78C74E566D7} contains an invalid Product Definition. Make sure the scanner is using a current ldappl3.ini file.
I have tried to push out the new ldappl3.ini file by going to the Software License Monitoring tool and using the "Make Available to Clients" button but I am still getting the same error. It is generating a lot of files in the ErrorScan folder. I went to the client in question and was able to browse to the ldmain\ldlogon share via a web browser and get to and download the Ldapple3.ldz file so I don't think it is a connectivity issue. Also I checked the Mime types in IIS on the core and .ldz is listed.
Any help would be appreciated.
thanks.

LANDesk Management Suite v9.0.3.1
Hello, I am pretty new to LANDesk and I am kind of stuck. I created a query to show me software installed on machines (software inventory) in a location, but I want to exlude some items that I just dont care about. My query is put together like this:
"Computer"."Computer Location" LIKE "my location"
AND ("Computer"."Software"."Add or Remove Programs"."Programs"."Name" NOT LIKE "Update for"
OR "Computer"."Software"."Add or Remove Programs"."Programs"."Name" NOT LIKE "Security Update"
OR "Computer"."Software"."Add or Remove Programs"."Programs"."Name" NOT LIKE "Flash Player"
...
the list goes on
...
)
The problem that I am having is that it will run and still give me results containing "Update for", "Security Update", "Flash Player", and so on. I found the following KB and if I am reading this correctly, then LANDesk is behing as expected. http://kb.landesk.com/support/thread/17154. They list a SQL query as a solution, but I am not quite sure how use that in LANDesk and probably don't have access to that part of it.
Is what I am trying to do possible? Any advise woulbe be appreciated!

Hi there,
Wondering if anyone has had any success in getting reliable data back from Inventory on the version of PowerShell installed? If so, would you mind sharing the secret sauce?
Thanks in advance,
Kevin
We have a combination of 24 hour boxes running 12 hour shifts and boxes that run typical Monday-Friday 8-5.
I know I can push a form out asking user to identify what category their box falls into but I want to do it by query if possible. But the parameters I have to work with might not be ones I can query.
8-830 box are usually the same user but not necessarily, and the 24 hour boxes are twelve our shifts where the most recent log on is either around 6 am or 6pm. Without pushing out a form, or tagging machines, any way you know to query a particular logon time of day rather than date or something else I just have not thought of?? Thanks.
Here is my dilemma. I have 5000 PC’s, which for the most part have been off for roughly 70 days. Now that they are being turned back on, the IP addresses of the PC’s are not matching what’s in LANDesk. Therefore, packages fail when being pushed out (a different agent responded). To make this situation a bit crazier and because of login slowness, the inventory scan was removed from startup. So, the only way to run an inventory scan is manually or if I am thinking correctly by re-pushing the client to all computers.
My question is. Is there a way to simple force a scan on all computers, regardless if their IP address matches? Perhaps using agent discovery?
Thanks
I am having a hard time finding documentation on how to use the Location Reporting feature.
The only documentation so far I have found is https://help.landesk.com/docs/help/en_US/LDMS/10.0/Windows/agent-h-inventory-settings.htm?Highlight=location reporting
In Agent Settings, under Inventory Settings, I have set Location Reporting to Allow with a Collection interval of 4 hours. My question is, how do I view the location data for the device that has this setting? I am not seeing it in the device inventory.
I am currently using a powershell script to kick off the following command "C:\LANDeskInventoryScan\ldiscn32.exe /NTT=servername /s=servername /F /i=servername\ldlogon\ldappl3.ini /sync /V" to initiate agentless inventory scans in 9.6. This is nice because I can query Active Directory for the machines I wish to perform a inventory on. I also have total control on when the scans are run.
We are currently upgrading to the new 2016 version and they perform agentless scans differently as I understand. You setup subnets which you wish to scan and LANDesk goes and places files in the administrative share and performs a software inventory. My question is it possible to do something in the new version like I performed in the old version. Where I can copy the files myself and initiate the software myself? The machines I am concerned about are windows boxes.
Thanks in advance,
Chad
Preface: I'm new to landesk so take it easy on me but please let me know if there are easier ways to do what I'm trying to do
I have multiple cores in my environment and I recently tried to migrate a couple hundred servers from one core to another by pushing a new Server Agent Configuration. The majority seem to have worked but there are several that have not reported their inventory scans to the new core.
After connecting to one of the failed machines I tried to run this to get a full scan uploaded to the core:
LDISCN32.EXE" /NTT=core.domain:5007 /RSS /F /S= /I=core.domain HTTP://core.domain/ldlogon/ldappl3.ldz /V /sync
In the ldiscn32.log file I see the following error:
LookupAccountName failed '1332'
The scan does end up going to the new core but ends up under the ldscan\ErrorScan directory.
Anyone know how to troubleshoot this?
Hello,
I'm getting this error on some 2003 servers when I try to run the inventory scan.
Any help on this?
Thanks
Since upgrading to LDMS9 sp2, we've had problems with the inventory service dropping offline. Our Oracle DBA was noticing the database listener would stop responding, which seemed to cause the service problems, and has been looking at Oracle. This morning, after rolling out patches over the weekend, I noticed that the inventory data is badly out of date on many machines, including mine. (Example - system does daily inventory scans, but machines are showing nothing since late July or early August.) I had clened out the ErrorScan folder 10 days ago, and in the last 10 days I have ~7300 failures in there (about 3/4 of all scans, if my ~1000 machines are scanning daily for the last 10 days.) Asked the DBA, and he had finally determined that LANDesk is overloading the listeners with the number of concurrent database sessions trying to connect to Oracle, and asked that I limit LDMS to 120 concurrent connections.
Is there a way to do something like this? I can't find anything in the community about it...
This isn't a huge system, either - one core, a dozen total users, about 1000 devices.
Hi guys,
I would like to know how many ways there are to identify a problem with Landesk Agent. I use Landesk 9.5 and when CBA8 stops to work, or another kind of trouble like that, it is difficult to analysed. I've found these documents: VBScript to check LANDesk Agent Health and reinstall if needed and CBA 8, unable to contact the remote agent
For give an idea, they are really nice but are there others points to think about? The point is to create a program that inform us about the Landesk agent health and, if necessary, reinstall it.
Thanks
I have noticed that there are a bunch of files with the above name that is eating my disk space. How can I prevent from getting this log files.
I have 8 gig eaten by these files.
Suggestions???
Thanks.
I am looking for some information on the "Last Hardware Scan Date", "Last Software Scan Date", " Last Updated by Inventory Server", and "Last Update Scan Date".
I need to know if the agent does a delta scan, and there are no changes in the hrdward or software, does either of these two dates get updated?
What is the "Last Update Scan Date" and "Last Updated by Inventory Server"?
I have some computers in inventory that have old hardware and software dates, but a receint Last Updated by Inventory Server date. I know that I can run a full inventory scan for clients that have older hardware/software scan dates, but ned to know what function/process updates the Last update scan date and last inventory server?
Thanks for any help you cangive me.
