It’s a bad idea allowing multiple machines to have the same IP in database. When you try to remote to a machine its IP may match another machine and then a connection is initiated to the wrong machine causing concern and issues with helpdesk calls why is someone remoting to my machine (and I am not sure other issues are not happening)
If a machine is changing communing up and registering an IP a search through the database for IP should be done to see if it is taken and if it is then the connection to that machine is tested and if it is not online a place holder is put into that machines record that will force a mini scan and update its IP once it comes back on line
Multiple machines having the same IP is a bad idea and is causing issue in our work place. Please don’t ask me to reset my reservations etc
